Cherry Blossom Branch

By Nicole Rivas - Publisher Macaroni Kid Wallingford April 3, 2017

The Cherry Blossoms are in full bloom in Washington DC. What better way to celebrate spring than creating a beautiful work of art?

What you will need:

Piece of white paper

Black or brown crayon

White, pink and any other colors you would like to incorporate tissue paper

Glue

Start by taking your crayon (you can use markers, colored pencils, or oil pastels too) and drawing your branch and twigs.

Next, rip the tissue paper into small pieces.

Put glue onto the branch (you can spread it using a paint brush if you find that easier than just squeezing or even dip the tissue paper into a small dish of glue)

Bunch tissue paper and put onto the spot where you put the glue.

You can make a pattern with the colors, randomly alternate, put one color per branch/twig, or just use one color throughout. Whatever you choose, have fun and then proudly display your beautiful project!
